Poland’s president Bronisław Komorowski met with the organiser of the “Masuria – the Wonder of Nature” campaign carried as a part of the international competition to select New 7 Wonders of Nature. During the meeting the President assured those gathered that he would support the campaign and he offered specific assistance in promoting Poland through Masuria.

Co-founder and first chairman of “Solidarity”, Nobel Peace Prize winner (1983), President of Poland (1990-1995), Time Magazine’s Man of the Year (1981), Lech Wałęsa joins the campaign promoting the Polish finalist in the competition organized by the “New7Wonders” Foundation. Masurian Lakes are thus supported by three Polish presidents: Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Lech Wałęsa and Bronisław Komorowski.

Andrzej Wajda, one of the most eminent film directors in Europe and worldwide, offered Jacek Pałkiewicz, the Ambassador of Masuria, words of support for Masuria, which competes for the title of the New 7th Wonder of Nature.

On the 23rd of January, 2011, the Archbishop of Cracow, father Stanisław Dziwisz, formerly a personal secretary to John Paul II, held a special meeting with Jacek Pałkiewicz, the Ambassador of Masuria as a part of the New 7 Wonders of Nature campaign. The cardinal expressed his support for the promotion of the Polish candidate in the category for the 7 most beautiful locations on our planet which were created by the forces of nature.
